ZeoCol - Encapsulated Dyes
NanoScape’s ZeoCol technology platform combines large-pore, nanocrystalline
host materials (specially designed for encapsulation of dyes or other functional
molecules) with a range of encapsulation and loading techniques. This allows a
wide variety of molecules with differing molecular dimensions, chemistry and
functionality, to be encapsulated within the host material.
The aim of the encapsulation process is to
incorporate functional molecules into the pore space of the nanomaterial host.
This serves two main functions:
- to protect the guest molecule against chemical / thermal /
mechanical attack
- to extend the range of application (by increasing dye compatibility
with different matrices)
As with other NanoZeo-additives, the ZeoCol
host particles can be surface modified for ease of dispersion into organic
matrices, or suspended in water.
